The Document Supply Center of the National Library of China was established in 1997. Being a major access point of information service of the Library, the objective of the Center is to fully utilize resources, to provide open and improved services and to play the role of a national library. The Center is based on the huge collections and well-trained library staff to provide services like subject definition, subject retrieval, document delivery, interlibrary loan and international interlibrary loan to the State, organizations inside and outside the country, general users and individuals. The Document Supply Center is based on the library's resources and various databases, as well as resources in other libraries and information agencies. Professional library staff provide service to users in locating information.
We offer one-stop services such as checking, copying, film restoring, scanning, printing, photographing, CD burning, binding, mailing, EMS, E-MAIL, online transfer (Ariel, E-MAIL, FTP, P2P, etc).
You can submit your request to the Center via the Internet, E-mail, telephone, fax or in person. We will respond to your request within two working days.
Charges：If the amount of documents is not huge, the Center will search for the documents directly after we receive your request. We will inform users about the payment method by mail. If the amount of documents is huge, please mail part of the charges to the Center first. We will settle the bill after the service is provided.
Documents within our collections: 5.00 yuan per document
Documents outside our collections: 10.00 yuan per document
Patent documents: 15.00 yuan per document
Mail charges: 8.00 yuan per document
Services charges for Speedpost: 5.00 yuan per document
Speedpost within Beijing City: 10.00 yuan per document
Photographing ：
1、 Searching fee: searching with source provided is charged for 5 yuan per document; searching without source provided will be billed according to the topic fee.
2、 Information fee: 2 yuan per shot
3、 Venue fee: 100 yuan per hour
"Urgent document" requires a double count.
Documents transferred using Ariel:
within 10 pages (domestic)--20 yuan,
more than 10 pages--2 yuan per page.

The Document Supply Center provides services based on the rich resources of the NLC including about 20,000 types of Chinese and foreign full-text electronic databases, doctoral dissertation and master papers, academic conference proceedings, and more than a thousand of Chinese and foreign well-known access journals and databases. The resources cover near a hundred million records of biomedical science, chemical engineering, computer science, electronic engineering, material science, food science, humanities, sociology, psychology, laws and regulations, library and information science, economics, trade and other fields. The Center provides user a specific topic according to user's need, and perform the professional search within the years required. The center provides user with related abstracts, bibliographical indexes, compilation of documents and pictures.
Charges： Subject Retrieval Service fee: Initial cost per subject is 300 yuan and additional fee will be added according to the degree of difficulty and range of searching.
"Urgent document" requires a double count.

In order to meet the needs of the readers and make the library resources accessible nationwide, our library has established interlibrary loan relationships with an array of libraries in China. Charges：Chinese and foreign books: 10 yuan per book (including postage). Overdue fine: 0.5 yuan/day per foreign book, 0.3 yuan/day per Chinese book

This service is divided into two parts:
1. Incoming Requests From Overseas Users：Libraries of all kinds can request for a loan while all users can request for a document delivery. Meanwhile we offer inquiry service or we can forward inquiries to related department. Loans will be sent via airmail and documents can be delivered via airmail, Ariel or email.
Charges：Loan Service Fee: US$23 per book loan. Copy Service Fee: US$12-14 for up to every 20 pages. Inquiry Service Fee: It is negotiated and usually the initial cost is US$50.

2. Outgoing Requests From Domestic Users：All users can borrow books or request for photocopies from more than 500 libraries in 63 countries via this service.
Charges： Photocopy Fee: 150 yuan per article (1–10 pages); 300 yuan (11–20 pages); 450 yuan (21–50 pages)
Loan Service Fee: 280 yuan per book loan,
photocopy fee is charged according to the library's policy
Patent Fee: 300 yuan per article
