In the morning of 10 December, Zhan Furui, NLC director, met with Australian ambassador Dr Geoff Raby, who visited the NLC, accompanied by Ms. Jill Collins, the Cultural Counselor of the Australian Embassy in China.

Dr Geoff Raby congratulated the NLC centennial, appraised the great achievements of the NLC in the past 100 years, and showed the intention of co-holding cultural activities with the NLC, such as lectures, exhibitions, etc.

Zhan Furui, NLC director, gave Dr Geoff Raby a warm welcome. And then he briefly introduced the friendly exchange between the library communities in China and Australia, showed that he supported Austrian side's assumptions of holding cultural activities in the NLC, and that he was willing to make efforts to promote the cultural exchange between China and Australia.

After the interview, accompanied by Yan Xiangdong, director of NLC International Cooperation Division, Dr Geoff Raby and Ms. Jill Collins visited the NLC North Area, especially the Exhibition Hall and Conference Room.
