Xiao Lanhua, a Chinese Communist Party member aged over 80 in Fangshan District, Beijing, donated her heirloom The Imperial Mandate for the Zhaos in the 3rd Year of Zhengtong, Ming Dynasty to the National Library of China (NLC). The donation ceremony was held in the NLC on 8 December. NLC deputy director Zhang Zhiqing and related leaders from Fangshan District attended the donation ceremony.

The Imperial Mandate for the Zhaos in the 3rd Year of Zhengtong, Ming Dynasty had important literature research value, which provided the first-hand object material for doing research on the official ranking system and conferment system in Ming Dynasty. Although it suffered from flood in the 1930s, it was believed that through the efforts of the restoration experts in the NLC Library of Ancient Books, The Imperial Mandate for the Zhaos in the 3rd Year of Zhengtong, Ming Dynasty would be recovered. With the incomparable preservation environment for ancient books in the NLC, it was believed that The Imperial Mandate for the Zhaos in the 3rd Year of Zhengtong, Ming Dynasty would be handed down forever, and would play important literature research value.

The development of the NLC was closely related with the support of persons of insight from China, even the whole world. Private donation would play irreplaceable and important roles for richening the NLC collections.
