The Special Stamps on National Library of China are Issued

To celebrate the 100th anniversary of the NLC, the State Post Bureau of China issued a set of special stamps on National Library of China on 9 September 2009. The issuing ceremony was held at 9:30 in NLC South Area.

The NLC deputy directors, namely Ms. Chang Pijun and Mr. Wei Dawei, the vice general manager of Beijing Post Company Mr. Wang Jinbo, and more than 60 other guests attended the issuing ceremony, which was hosted by Mr. Sun Yigang, director of NLC Centennial Events Office.

It was the first time that the State Post Bureau of China issued stamps for the society of Chinese libraries. This 2-piece set of special stamps showed vivid pictures of NLC buildings and special collections. As to buildings, the pictures on the stamps were Wenjin building of NLC Library of Ancient Books and newly-built NLC North Area, which presented the past and the future of the NLC, while as to special collections, the pictures displayed the four special collections of NLC, namely, Dunhuang Manuscripts, the Zhaocheng Tripitaka of the Jin Dynasty, the Yongle Encyclopedia, and the Complete Library of the Four Branches of Literature. Each stamp cost 1.2 Yuan.

The stamps would be sold in all post offices of China within 6 months from today on.
