On 9 September 2009, the National Library of China (NLC) will usher her centennial celebration, which is also the centennial festival of the whole culture community in China.
The centennial celebration of NLC climbs to the summit with the approaching of 9 September. On 3 September, NLC held a meeting about centennial events advocacy, which was presided over by Zhang Yuhui, NLC deputy director. Deputy directors Chang Pijun, Chen Li, Zhang Zhiqing and other leaders attended the meeting with nearly 30 news agencies presented there, such as People's Daily, CCTV, Beijing Daily and so on.
The centennial celebration will promote society's understanding of NLC, fully display the brilliant achievements, experiences and spirits of NLC, as well as show tremendous changes which China has undergone during one hundred years from the perspective of culture and demonstrating the philosophy of "Inherit Civilization and Serve the Society". The well-prepared cultural feast will make the society and the world to be much closer to NLC.

At 9:00 on 9 September 2009, there will be a celebration ceremony in NLC Concert Hall, which is the upsurge of the centennial celebration.

Symposium on International Progress of Libraries: Global Knowledge Sharing
On the occasion of centennial of the National Library of China, the Symposium on "International Progress of Libraries: Global Knowledge Sharing" will be held in the National Library of China on September 8-12, 2009.

The ode is created by Mr. Zhan Furui, NLC Director, to celebrate the 100-year anniversary of NLC.
【Issue of Special Stamps and The Concert】
The State Post Bureau of the People's Republic of China will issue a 2-piece set of special stamps "The Centennial National Library of China" on 9 September 2009. In NLC Concert Hall, a concert will be held to celebrate the 100th anniversary of NLC.
The memorial collections, NLC History and Inherit Civilization and Serve the Societ—Old Photos of NLC, will be published around 9 September.
