H.E. Mr. Rashid Alimov, the ambassador of the Republic of Tajikistan to China, visited the National Library of China (NLC) in the afternoon of 1 June 2009. Zhan Furui, NLC director, interviewed the guest.

During the interview, Zhan Furui, NLC director, introduced the general situation of the NLC, especially the project of World Digital Library, and hoped that the two countries would further develop the friendship established in the 2nd century B.C. through the Silk Road. H.E. Mr. Rashid Alimov expressed that he would like to promote the cooperation between National Library of China and National Library of Tajikistan, and showed that both parties could hold exhibitions, which could build a bridge between China and Tajikistan for cultural exchange.

After the interview, the guest, accompanied by Yan Xiangdong, director of NLC International and Cooperation Division, visited the NLC Library of Ancient Books.
