On July 1st, the cooperation signing ceremony between National Library of China and National Cultural Information Resources Management Centre of China was held in NLC Wenjin Hall. Zhou Heping, vice minister of The Ministry of Culture, attended the ceremony and made a speech. Zhan Furui, NLC director, and Zhang Yanbo, director of National Cultural Information Resources Management Centre of China, delivered a speech respectively, and signed the cooperation agreement, which marked that the abundant digital resources of National Digital Library of China served the public through the network system of National Cultural Information Resources Sharing Project, and played important roles for broadening the service manners of National Digital Library of China, enriching the resources of National Cultural Information Resources Sharing Project, enhancing public cultural service ability, and promoting vigorous development and prosperity of the advanced culture of Socialism and the construction of harmonious society.

National Library of China provided 2.62TB digital resources for the cooperation, put the resources into the service network of National Cultural Information Resources Sharing Project, and provided service for the public for free through many manners, such as internet, intranet, electronic government extranet, CDs, satellites, and so on. At the same time, National Library of China supported the infrastructure platform construction of National Cultural Information Resources Sharing Project, providing services for it, including network access, resources storage, operation and maintenance of main server and database system, etc.

In the ceremony, Zhou Heping donated ambulation hard drive, CDs, and reading cards, which load digital resources, for Sichuan Library, so as to make the public in disaster area enjoy the cooperation achievements between National Digital Library of China and National Cultural Information Resources Sharing Project as soon as possible, and play important roles of digital cultural resources for the reconstruction work of the disaster area.

Both National Digital Library of China Project and National Cultural Information Resources Sharing Project are non-profitable cultural services, which have quite large cooperation space in technology, resources, services and so on. This cooperation will acquire prominent effects on resource integration, efficiently advance the overall level of the two projects in resources construction, technology support, information services, etc, and promote vigorous development and prosperity of the advanced culture of Socialism.

The following members attended the ceremony, including Zhao Wen, vice director of the Department of Finance, the Ministry of Culture, Liu Xiaoqin, vice director of the Department of Social Culture and Library of the Ministry of China, Zhang Xiaoxing and Cui Jianfei, vice director of National Cultural Information Resources Management Centre of China, Li Zhonghan, Director of Sichuan Library, and so on. The ceremony was hosted by Chen Li, deputy director of National Library of China.
