NLC Delegation, Led by Deputy Director Zhang Yuhui, Visits The Czech Republic

From May 19th to May 25th, 2008, a 4-person delegation of National Library of China, led by deputy director Zhang Yuhui, visited The Czech Republic, and did operation exchange with National Library of The Czech Republic.

During the interview with Vlastimil Jezek, director of National Library of The Czech Republic, and Adolf Knoll, deputy director of National Library of The Czech Republic, Zhang Yuhui, NLC deputy director, proposed that both sides should establish a mechanism for a regular exchange of visits between leaders of the two national libraries, and continue to strengthen personnel exchange. In addition, Zhang Yuhui, NLC deputy director, invited Vlastimil Jezek, director of National Library of The Czech Republic, to take part in the NLC Century Anniversary Celebration in 2009 on behalf of National Library of China. Vlastimil Jezek, director of National Library of The Czech Republic, showed that he would consider the invitation.

During the operation exchange, NLC delegation discussed several topics with National Library of The Czech Republic, such as preservation and digitalization of manuscripts, deployment of digitalization project, and so on.

During the visit period, the delegation paid a visit to the digitalization workshop of National Library of The Czech Republic, central book stack, preservation and conservation workshop of ancient books, Prague Municipal Library, etc. The hierarchical services and manuscripts digitalization projects of National Library of The Czech Republic left a deep impression on the delegation.
