Along with the smooth closing of the First Session of the Eleventh National People's Congress (NPC) and the First Session of the Eleventh Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC), NPC and CPPCC services of National Library of China were successfully closed.

NPC and CPPCC services of National Library of China in 2008 have the following features: first, based on the key points of the conferences, we directly join in the proposal preparations for the delegates of NPC and CPPCC, and assist in writing proposals; second, we are well prepared for the conferences, which guarantees high quality NPC and CPPCC services; third, we broaden the service fields for the delegates on the basis of routine service. In addition to NPC and CPPCC Consultative Service Office in National Library of China, a column named NLC Information Service is specially designed in the website of The National People's Congress of the People's Republic of China, which introduces NLC services and receives the consultation of the delegates; fourth, we deepen NLC legislative decision services talent cultivation through NPC and CPPCC services. The newly established Legislative Decision Services Department pays great attention to the cultivation of operation levels and operation quality as well as succeeds to the traditions and core values of NLC reference services; finally, the departments are well cooperated. Coordination and Operation Management Division helps organize the related departments and deploy the work in details. Many departments take part in the preparations for NPC and CPPCC services, including Planning and Finance Division, Security Division, General Affairs Department, NLC Library of Ancient Books, Office of National Preservation and Conservation Centre for Ancient Books, Computer and Network System Department, Secretariat of Library Society of China and so on.
