Broadcast Dates of History of NLC

The program of Exploring in CCTV 10 will broadcast an 8-episode documentary History of NLC at 21:25 every night from 31 August, and replay at 9:20 and 15:50 the next day.

Introduction: The program of Exploring will broadcast History of NLC!Generation to Generation at 21:25 on Monday 7 September. The National Library of China has 100-year glorious history. In the past 100 years, great changes have taken place, from the Metropolitan Library to the National Library of China, from being without definite residence to the soul-stirring new library building, and the collections from 0.1 million of to 23 million. With the history of 100 years, the NLC is always in line with the national fortunate, and always keeps pace with the times. The 100 years witness many changes in the names and locations of the Library. In the new century, the Library is developing towards delicacy, humanization, and modernization, with "building a library without enclosure" as the goal of the Library in the new era. The NLC will go on shouldering heavy responsibilities in the era with great ongoing changes.

More than 60 years ago, the rare treasure Zhaocheng Tripitaka of the Jin Dynasty turned up in troubled times, and a weird life legend about this treasure was uncovered since then. The national treasure suffered from a lot in more than 10-year hard times, so it had been changed beyond recognition. How did the NLC experts restore this national treasure?

Introduction: The program of Exploring will broadcast History of NLC!Stupendous Changes at 21:25 on Saturday 5 September.
In the 1950s, many lost classical collections and precious treasures appeared in Hong Kong market. Under the covetous eyes of western purchasers, a cryptic group of China was assigned to Hong Kong to purchase those treasures. Therefore, an action of rescuing national treasures was launched.

Introduction: The program of Exploring will broadcast History of NLC!Classics & Legend at 21:25 on Friday 4 September.
As the treasured collections of the National Library of China, the Yongle Encyclopedia and the Complete Library of the Four Branches of Literature have always been very mysterious, which bear the glory and dream of the emperors in Ming and Qing Dynasty. Although they are suffered from wars and rapine in the past hundreds of years, they are still the classics and legend in the world.

Introduction: The program of Exploring will broadcast History of NLC!Oracle-bone Inscriptions at 21:25 on Thursday 3 September.
It is a rarely known collection room in the National Library of China, in which 28450 pieces of oracle bones recording the secrets of thousands of years ago are collected. This program will introduce a string of legend in the beginning of 20th century, including the discovery of oracle bones, from Chinese medicine store in late Qing Dynasty to Yinxu ruins in Shang Dynasty, and famous collectors of oracle bones such as Wang Yirong, Luo Zhenyu and Wang Guowei.

Introduction: The program of Exploring will broadcast History of NLC!Dunhuang Manuscripts at 21:25 on Wednesday 2 September.
The unexpected discovery in the Dunhuang Library Cave hundreds of years ago exposes the true appearance of civilization thousands of years ago. From the depths of the desert to the Metropolitan Library, from scattering around the world to microform publishing, Dunhuang Manuscripts are always shining. 

[Preview] Exploring: History of NLC!Recalling the Memorable Years (1 September)
Introduction: The program of Exploring will broadcast History of NLC!Recalling the Memorable Years at 21:25 on Tuesday 1 September.
It is the first building in China which invites public bidding from worldwide. This building, originating from Yuan Ming Yuan Park, blends Chinese style with western style, and startles the world. After the outbreak of war, the valuable collections of this building were moved to the south with the national treasures in the Forbidden City. How about the handwritten scripts in Tang Dynasty and rare books in Song and Yuan Dynasty collected in this building?

Introduction: The program of Exploring will broadcast History of NLC!Century Herald at 21:25 on Monday 31 August.
During late Qing Dynasty and early Republic of China, a national library was born into being, which enlightened Chinese modern culture. But it was doomed to make an arduous march in the turmoil environment.
